The Fire

Here is a song by Christine Wyrtzen that has been a favorite of mine for many years.

The Fire

I’ve been through a fire that has deepened my desire
To know the living God more and more.
It hasn’t been much fun, but the work that it has done in my life
Has made it worth the hurt.

You see, sometimes we need the hard times
To bring us to our knees
Otherwise, we do as we please
And never heed Him

But He always knows what’s best
And it’s when we are distressed
That we really come to know God as He is.

11 Timothy 3:12-17 (CJB)

And indeed, all who want to live a godly life united with the Messiah Yeshua will be persecuted, while evil people and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving others and being deceived themselves.  But you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, recalling the people from whom you learned it;  and recalling too how from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which can give you the wisdom that leads to deliverance through trusting in Yeshua the Messiah.  All Scripture is God-breathed and is valuable for teaching the truth, convicting of sin, correcting faults and training in right living; thus anyone who belongs to God may be fully equipped for every good work.

NOTE: The Holy Scriptures and Scripture referred to in this passage would be what is today known by many as the Old Testament.
