If we only have to LOVE, then what does that look like?

Written by Yohanan, the disciple whom יְהוֹשֻׁעַ loved, in his first letter.

…by this we know that we know Him:  IF we guard His commands  The one who says “I know Him” and does NOT guard His commands, is a LIAR, and the truth is NOT in him. But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected in him.  By this we know that we are in Him.

The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to WALK, even as He walked!  (in Torah!)

…Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin IS lawlessness.

…because this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another!  (this was not a new teaching by the Messiah!)

…let us not love in word or in tongue, but in DEED and in TRUTH!

…And whatever we ask we receive from Him, BECAUSE we guard His commands and DO what is pleasing in His sight!

And this is His command, that we should believe in the Name of His Son, יְהוֹשֻׁעַ, and love one another, as He gave us command…

Beloved ones, let us love one another, because love is of Elohim, and everyone who loves has been born of Elohim, and knows Elohim.  The one who does not love, does not know Elohim, for Elohim is love….

How do we love people?

…By this we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Elohim and guard His commands.

How do we love Elohim?

For THIS is the love of Elohim, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy!

So, in Matthew’s account when he writes what Messiah said is the greatest command:

“You shall love יְהוָה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind.  This is the first and great command. And the second is like it, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” On these two commands hang all the Torah and the Prophets.”

The way that we honor these words, to LOVE Elohim and love our neighbor according to John is by guarding/keeping His commands!
